Konica Minolta and Ronaldinho now playing for the same team

Brazilian football star Ronaldinho is the face of Konica Minolta's new advertising campaign, which had its European launch in September this year. The campaign advertises colour and monochrome multifunctional products (MFPs) as well as printers and large volume devices. It can be seen in the print media, online and on television. Konica Minolta is the European market leader in full-colour MFPs and is using the new Ronaldinho campaign to show that the right office solution is the way to achieve your goals.

 

"Ronaldinho was the obvious choice for our new advertising campaign. His artistry on the pitch is the epitome of innovative technique, speed and agility as well as quality and fun", explains Carlos Baart, Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. "These are the values that Konica Minolta represents in the business of digital colour printing."

The Ronaldinho campaign is aimed at Konica Minolta's customers, dealers and partners. The advertisements featuring the FC Barcelona midfielder can be seen on television, on the Internet and in print media. They are also used in showrooms of Konica Minolta partners and dealers. Depending on their requirements, the various countries show the advertising material either in English or in the local language.

The Ronaldinho campaign consists of two series that run in parallel and demonstrate that the right office solution can be the way for a company to raise its game. The series entitled "The skills to win" advertises Konica Minolta's full-colour MFPs. The second series is entitled "Improve your game dramatically" and features the black-and-white InfoLine design of the new bizhub generation.

Both series use a variety of communication channels to put across their message: apart from print advertisements, posters and give-aways, these include an innovative TV and video clip. The clip for the "The skills to win" series, for example, shows a full football team line-up before kick-off. What's special about it, however, is that the team, which is being cheered by the capacity crowd in the stadium, consists entirely of Ronaldinhos. This clip, which can also be viewed on video portals on the Internet, ends with a shot of a new Konica Minolta bizhub and the slogan "The skills to win – Konica Minolta", either in English or the local language.

Prior to its European launch the Ronaldinho campaign had already been running successfully in Japan. Konica Minolta plans to use the Ronaldinho endorsement to advertise in Europe throughout the year to come.
