Photogrammetry System
3D Data alignment for large objects or objects with fewer features in shape such as car doors, bumpers and instrument panels, etc. (Applicable instrument model: VIVID 9i)
To measure large targets such as car doors, bumpers and instrument panels, you need to split the measurement area into several sections and repeat measurement for each section.
With the "PSC-1 Photogrammetry System", you can efficiently assemble the data measured with each split section. The system ensures high accuracy of the assembled 3D data through the use of highly accurate photogrammetry technology (measurement using digital photographs). Data assembly is smooth even for targets with fewer features in shape such as car doors.

First, attach reference markers to the target. Then, use the special digital SLR (single-lens reflex) camera to take pictures from several directions, by including both the coded markers and the absolute-value-controlled scale bars in each shot. The photogrammetry software included in the system provides highly accurate 3D data (center point coordinates) for the reference markers based on the picture images.

The 3D data of the target obtained with the VIVID 9i is automatically registered with the 3D data of the reference markers obtained with the software. This allows accurate data assembly even for targets with no distinctive shapes such as car doors.
The overlap of data can be reduced to a minimum. You can efficiently perform split measurement only for necessary areas. By combining this system with the highly accurate measurement with the VIVID 9i, you can obtain reliable 3D data quickly.
